2023 Kia EV6

This product was recommended by Betsy Banks Saul from Petfinder

It strike the perfect balance between performance, environmental stewardship, fun for rides with the dogs and enough bells and whistles that there is a nod to the creature comforts that I secretly long for. Kia has the standard pet accessories, like seat hammocks, pet tethers for safety, and door guards. But the best care to put dogs IN may not always be the best car FOR dogs. But, in this case, the EV6 still stands out. The EV6 folks are a big supporter of animal welfare. They’ve made significant donations, host local dealer adoption events, and promote adoption nationally through a massive campaign. Now THAT is a car that is good FOR dogs! The EV6 is low enough that my senior dog can get in easily and there is a split rear seat so even when I have a human passenger in the back seat, he doesn’t have to get relegated to the “way back” (the dog that is, not the human passenger! On long trips, I want an interior that is spacious enough for him to get comfy even with my luggage, and I don’t want the environmental and bulky overhead that a big SUV has. SO while not strictly a luxury care, perhaps the EV6 checks enough performance and creature comfort boxes to receive a special mention.

Mercedes GLS SUV

This product was recommended by Melanie Musson from CompareAutoInsurance

Dog owners need a car with room for their pets to sit comfortably, and some owners need space for a travel crate. The GLS SUV has room for either option. Dogs love the GLS’s ample windows to watch the world go by as they travel. With five-zone climate control, owners can tweak the temperature to keep their dogs in maximum comfort. Owners who prefer their dogs don’t walk on their vehicle’s seats and risk scratching them will appreciate that the back seats can fold down to create a carpet-like upholstery area for their pets to relax and walk around if they want. Pet owners don’t have to give up any luxuries when choosing a vehicle that can accommodate their pets when they choose the GLS SUV.

The Audi Q5 is one of the brand’s best-selling car models and for good reason. The luxury SUV is extremely spacious and comfortable, not to mention, it comes with an enormous boot that can easily fit most large dog breeds. On top of that, it also comes with standard features such as air suspension, which enables the car to be lowered and can come in handy by making it easy for dogs to quickly jump in and out of the boot. And if you want a car with extra performance, you can usually opt for the SQ5, which is the sport version that is powered by a V6 petrol engine, features quattro all-wheel drive and can go 0-62mph in just over 5 seconds.

So you won’t be missing out on the experience.

Thanks to the all-wheel drive and roomy cargo area, this car is a popular choice for dog owners. The 75.7 cubic feet cargo space makes it an excellent choice for people who have larger dogs and multiple pets. The Discovery has a split-folding rear tailboard ideal for medium to large-sized dogs for easy in-and-out hops. The Discovery has seven seats, but if your dog is riding in the boot, the two back seats may be folded down to make more room. The boot is 1,411 mm wide and 854 mm tall, making it suitable for bigger breeds like a Great Dane or a Bernese Mountain Dog. Several storage compartments are situated around the cabin and in the back to secure your dog’s goodies.
